Welcome to CENTRED - where we make mental health practical and accessible! Simply put - we give you practical and useful tools to help you navigate all the thoughts, feelings and emotions that you experience throughout your daily life.
So, you’ve decided to start therapy, and chose CENTRED as your safe space to land, but you’re not quite sure how to go about it, or even what to do before your first appointment. Well, you’ve done the “hard part” which is recognizing that you need support and we’re glad to be on this journey with you.
Before you start, here are a few things to keep in mind:
We understand that therapy can feel a bit intimidating, but it's a solo journey—unfortunately, no one else can be in the room with you.
You don’t have to know exactly what you want to talk about when you come in for the first time. The Introductory session is meant for you to get to know Chalanie and Jessica (depending on who you meet with), and vice versa. They know how and when to ask questions where needed; you just have to be open and honest when you get inside the room.
If you do have things you’d like to discuss, you can absolutely jot them down and bring your list in!
It gets easier the more sessions you have, and before you know it, it feels like a chat with a member of your support system.
We offer both virtual and in person sessions, this just comes down to your location and preference.
If you choose a face-to-face session, you can expect to be welcomed into a clean, spacious and warm environment.
Our typical rule of thumb is - 1 session every other week; but life happens daily, so if you feel the need to come weekly - then that’s perfectly fine too. On the flip side, if things are going smoothly and you don’t need to meet with us as often, that’s okay as well. We're here to support you, no matter what pace works best for you.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you come in for your first session, we’re here to help guide your therapeutic journey and help you stay centred.
